Paper entries
Printable entry forms are available and can be downloaded by clicking here. Mailed entries must be postmarked on/before Thursday, September 16th, 2010 to guarantee processing before Race day.

In-Person Registration
We will have in-person registration opportunities prior to and on Race weekend. To register in person, for $30, before Race day, please come to the Pettit National Ice Center on the following days:

  • Friday, September 17th – 4 – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 18th – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 19th – 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Friday, September 24th – 4 – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 25th – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Race Day Registration – Sunday, September 26, 2010

Individuals may register on Race Day between 7 – 9 a.m. at the Registration Tent at the North Gate at Summerfest. Race Day registration is $35.

Sleep in for the Cure® brought to you by Steinhafels

If you cannot participate in the activities on Race day, you may still participate via Sleep in for the Cure sponsored by Steinhafels Registration is $30. While you can't join us on Race day you can still participate in the Friends for the Cure® Program by securing donations. Please note your T-shirt will be mailed to you 2 to 3 weeks after Race day. Your Friends for the Cure® certificate, used to claim your prize, will be mailed separately. Register HereThe deadline to register for Sleep in for the Cure is September 3, 2010.

T-Shirt Pickup/Mail option (Individuals)

For those Race participants who have pre-registered for the Race, T-shirts will be available for pick-up at the Pettit National Ice Center on the following days:

  • Friday, September 17th between 4 – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 18th between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 20th between 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Friday, September 24th between 4 – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 25th between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

MAIL MY SHIRT: If you cannot come to one of the T-shirt pick-up times, you can choose the option to mail my T-shirt during the registration process. This costs an additional $5 and you will receive your shirt before Race day.  The deadline to register for the "Mail My Shirt" option is Friday, September 3, 2010. T-shirt pick-up info.

Team Registration

To start a Team, designate a team captain to register the team by registering themselves first. The team captain will then name the team and set a team recruitment and fundraising goal. Now, others can join the team, by clicking on the teams web page link or by searching for the team name under "Join My Team."

NEW Kids for the Cure® presented by Kohl's Department Stores

You don't have to be a grown-up to help fight breast cancer. Kids 12 and under can register for the New Kids for the Cure® presented by Kohl's Department Stores. They'll receive their own Kids for the Cure® T-shirt and Race Bib compliments of Kohl's. On Race Day, the Kids for the Cure® schedule of activities will take place at Discovery World adjacent to the Race site beginning at 8:30 a.m. Activities include the Discovery World Scavenger Hunt, Toddler Dash and much more. Registered children receive free entry to Discovery World with Kids for the Cure® Race Bib.

Note: Kids 12 and over are encouraged to register as a walker or runner in the Komen Race for the Cure 5K or Komen Mile.

Registration for Kids for the Cure® goes through Race day. Register your child for Kids for the Cure® prior to Race day for $20. Register your child on Race Day for $25.

Kids for the Cure® T-shirts can be mailed or picked up on Race day.

Kids for the Cure® T-Shirt Contest

The NEW Kids for the Cure® presented by Kohl's Department Stores will feature a T-Shirt contest hosted by Discovery World. Children 12 and under are invited to submit an original drawing for our first ever Kids for the Cure® T-shirt. Registered children receive an official Kids for the Cure® T-shirt compliments of Kohl's. The winning artwork will be used as the signature design on the T-shirts ordered for this program. The top finalist will be displayed at Discovery World August 24th to September 26th. All contestants will receive a free ticket to Discovery World.

Entries will be judged by a panel of judges based upon creativity, neatness and the overall spirit of the Komen Race for the Cure®. Art MUST be post marked/received by August 10th, 2010.

The rules for competition are:

The focus of the design should somehow represent the child's idea of the fight against breast cancer and of the Komen Race for the Cure®. Multiple colors may be used, and oftentimes the color pink along with a ribbon is used to represent breast cancer. Take note of ribbon in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure logo.

  • Artwork must be submitted on 8 ½" x 11" white paper or cardstock and mailed flat (Folded art WILL NOT be accepted).
  • Mail by August 10th to:

  • Colors should be dense and vivid to recreate well on T-shirts. Markers are suggested to provide clear solid colors.
  • On the back of the artwork, please include the following:
    • Designer's Name and Age
    • Name of school
    • Year in school
    • Home address
    • Parent or Guardian's name
    • Contact telephone number and email address
      This contact information will not be used for any other purpose.
  • By submitting a design, the designer and the designer's parent or guardian consent to the entries becoming the property of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and agree to the entry being used for promotional purposes. Entries will not be returned.

Entries will be judged by a panel of judges based upon creativity, neatness and the overall spirit of the Komen Race for the Cure®. The judges' decision is final.

Discovery World Scavenger Hunt

Join in on the Discovery World Scavenger Hunt and explore our aquariums, come aboard the S/V Denis Sullivan, learn about the Great Lakes and have a whole bunch of fun at the same time.  Can you find the answers to the clues located throughout Discovery World and on board the S/V Denis Sullivan?  If you do, then you’ll receive a free nautical tattoo and a $5 gift certificate good for your next purchase in our gift shop.

Details

  • Where: The scavenger hunt will take place in the aquarium building and the S/V Denis Sullivan.
  • When: 8:30 am and run until 11:30 am
  • How long will it take: Plan about an hour to complete the hunt if the primary goal is to complete all task.
  • Participants will be given a “clue & answer” sheet.  Pencils will be provided.
  • We will ask a total of six questions.  Four will regard information in the aquarium building and two will pertain to the Denis Sullivan which will be docked outside our building.
  • Once completed, participants will receive a free tattoo and a $5 gift certificate for a gift shop purchase.  For clarification, there’s a $15 minimum purchase requirement for the gift certificate.
  • Signs will be in place stating the individual clues where the answer will be found.
  • Entry to DW via the Scavenger Hunt does not count as the free admissions described below.
  • Registered children receive one free admission to Discovery World with their Dash Race Bib.  This admission is good any time until 10-31-10. Kids with Kid’s Dash Race bibs and Survivors with Pink Bibs get into Discovery World for free. Valid until 10-31 and race bib must be presented for offer to be valid.
  • All participants in the Komen Southeast WI Race for the Cure receive Half Off General Admission to Discovery World with Race Bib.

SURVIVORS:

NEW Survivor recognition ceremony before the Race at the start line.

Survivors are designated by the pink T-shirts they wear for the Race.

Survivors are welcome to enjoy a light continental breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. in the survivor tent.
