We share the vision of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® stated in the promise: "to save
lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care
for all and energizing science to find the cures." We understand that what began
as a promise from Nancy to her sister, Susan, must end in a cure.
Our further vision in Southeastern Wisconsin is:
- To become a leading agency and a driving force in building awareness, understanding,
education, support and screening for breast health and breast cancer
- To become a major source of funding for breast cancer programs in the community,
strongly supporting programs for under-served women
- To become a "clearinghouse" for breast health and breast cancer information in the
communities we serve and a media focal point on breast cancer issues
- To become a major source of Community Profile information regarding breast health
and breast cancer
- To be supported by a network of hundreds of survivors and activists and a dedicated staff, all
committed to expanding our reach and results
Our heartfelt vision is that, through our above stated goals, we will begin:
- To realize substantial improvement in breast health and reduction in breast cancer
in Southeastern Wisconsin
